Springs and Leaf Springs Manufacture
Since 1968 ZAO PPRZ has been one of the leading Russian producers of automobile and railway springs, leaf springs, various spring-elastic components and castings from non-ferrous metals.
The Company has large production facilities permitting to manufacture up to 1 500 000 pieces of various automobile and railways springs and leaf springs per annum.
Uniqueness, quality, and reliability of ZAO PPRZ products is achieved due to application of high technologies, our own know-how as well as due to high performance automated lines of American (Gogan, Holcroft), and domestic manufacture.
Flexible technologies applied at the factory make it possible to produce the following types of spring and leaf spring products:
- coil springs (compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs) from 0.3—60 mm rod
- Belleville disc springs of 10—350 mm outer diameter
- leaf springs with 600—1550 mm center-to-center distance
- various spring-elastic components of complex shape from 0.02 – 2.5 mm thick strip
Die casting permits to produce blanks and manufactured articles of production and technical use made from bronze, brass, and aluminum of various grades with subsequent rough machining and finish machining of the blanks according to Customer’s drawings.
To improve resistance to corrosion the springs and leaf springs are covered with various protective coatings including base coatings, lacquers, enamels, and polymer based powdered coating.
Polymer based powder coating is applied by electrostatic method at automatic painting line manufactured by ITW GEMA AG (Switzerland), equipped with conveyor system and providing high quality coating, high rate and maintainability.
The availability of advanced inspection, measuring, and test equipment and application of developed methods ensure comprehensive test of manufactured springs and leaf springs. The springs and leaf springs are controlled for geometry, hardness, strain-energy characteristic, and cyclic resistance.
Additional test are possible to check for defects by ultrasonic examination as well as by means flaw detection and X-ay diagnostics.
Tool-making facilities provide all the workshops (sites) of the main production unit with spring coiling equipment, molds, and dies.
The molds are produced at Robofil EDM machines (manufactured by Charmilles Technologies, Switzerland) and at vertical milling machining center manufactured by C.B.Ferrari (Italy).
Significant investments into engineering and process development permit to the processing engineering service of the Company to cope with technical upgrade, process improvement, and tooling applied in the process, development and implementation of resource saving production processes.
Quality Management System of the Company is certified by BVQI, the international certification body, and it meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management systems – Requirements international standard.
